Last week we learned of several reports from the Korean media that suggested that LG was working on two new wearable devices: a smartwatch by the name of G Arch and a fitness tracker called the G Health. At the time we had little to go on, besides the claim that the two devices would be unveiled at CES 2014.
Now thanks to famed leaker @evleaks, we might just have the first look at LG’s attempt to create a fitness tracking band. Taking to Twitter, @evleaks released the image seen above alongside a very brief description, “LG Lifeband Touch.” Unfortunately, no other details were divulged.
Considering the LG Health name always sounded a bit odd to us, it seems more likely that IF this is a legit product, the final name will actually be the Lifeband Touch. Aside from that, we can guess that it will have some sort of “touch” functionality and will probably compete directly with products like the FuelBand+, FitBand and Samsung’s own rumored fitness tracker.
Keep in mind that LG has yet to confirm whether or not it is even planning to release such a device, so take all of this with a grain of salt. We’ve reached out to LG for further comment on the Lifeband Touch, and will update if/when we hear back. Either way, we’re likely to know more sometime between the 7th and 10th of January at CES.
