ZTE to launch new devices including Grand S II at CES 2014

ZTE logo aa - 600pxCES 2014 is only a few days away and the big industry names have started to indicate what will be launched at the show. One of those is ZTE, the telecommunications giant from China, and the company is set to release phones, and wearable devices during the international consumer event.
ZTE will launch five new phones at CES including the Grand S II which ZTE is calling its “first high-precision voice phone” due to the voice control features which allow things like voice recognition unlocking and voice-to-phone photography. The Grand S II will also feature triple-MIC noise reduction for clearer voice calls.
The original Grand S was launched at CES last year and featured a 5-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 display with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with 2GB of RAM. It also offered 16GB of flash and a 13MP camera. According to ZTE the Grand S II is the latest evolution in its Grand series but it is keeping quiet about the exact specs of the new phone at the moment.

However the company was more forth coming about details of two other new phones it will launch at CES, the nubia 5S and nubia 5S mini. The nubia 5S will have a five-inch Sharp 1080p full HD display, and a 13 MP camera with a Sony RS sensor. The camera which will support 4K video recording has a F2.0 aperture with what ZTE is calling “DSLR-like photo options.” The nubia 5S mini will have a smaller display at 4.7-inches and will be available in a variety of colors.
ZTE will also unveil its latest phone built specifically for Aio Wireless. The ZTE Sonata 4G, which will have a 4 inch display, be powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. It will also have a 5 MP camera, flash, and be capable of 720p video capture.
The final smartphone in ZTE’s CES lineup is what the company is calling its very first “Iconic Phablet.” The 5.7 inch device will use an unspecified quad-core processor and come with Gorilla Glass, Dolby Digital Sound and wireless charging. The phone will also features a smart viewer mode that allows two apps to run side by side on the display.
ZTE has been developing a portfolio of fantastic consumer electronics on top of the smartphones for which we've become well known.
Mr. Zeng Xuezhong, ZTE EVP and Head of the Mobile Devices Division.
But ZTE will have more than just phones for CES 2014. The company is also going to pull the wraps off its first smartwatch, called BlueWatch, and its AT&T Wireless Home Base device. The watch will has a built-in pedometer and can be tethered to a smartphone via Bluetooth to control calls, trigger the camera and access social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. The Wireless Home Base allows users to connect their home telephone to the AT&T wireless network, and get unlimited local and long distance calling for $20 per month.

Combined projector and wireless hotspot

Remember all those times when you looked at your wireless access point and dreamed of the day when it would also contain a built-in projector? No? Oh well… But if you ever did then ZTE has the perfect device for you. The ZTE Projector Hotspot is a mini projector and Wi-Fi hotspot all-in-one! According to ZTE’s press release the device is “great for streaming and sharing visual content whether you’re in the office, at home (inside or outside) or in the classroom. With its compact size, the unit can provide 4G access for up to eight clients simultaneously.” At the moment I will resist from passing judgement until we can actually see the unit in action!
If you are going to CES you can find ZTE in South Hall 4, booth 31431.
